Gearing up for a great Easter party

If you are hosting an Easter party, either for children or adults, you’re going to need lots of Easter party supplies. I like to keep to a spring theme featuring all the usual Easter characters: the Easter Bunny, eggs and so on. Apart from the obvious religious connotations, Easter represents the end of winter for me so I keep my party ideas towards celebrating the season of renewal and rebirth.

I like to make life simple and use paper of plastic tablecloths for parties – if they get soiled it doesn’t matter and it saves my good linen table covers.

What do you need for a great Easter party

For any party it helps take the stress out of things if you know exactly what you are doing – I always have a checklist then I don’t forget anything – this is one I have drawn up for a Spring party

Invitations – I often make my own, it is really easy to do since most of us have access to a computer and printer and I can customize them exactly how I want them. When I don’t have time though – there are plenty to buy at reasonable prices.
Decorations – I decide early on if I am going to use a theme or just have general Easter and spring themed decorations. I’ve written about these elsewhere so I won’t repeat myself here – you can read these by clicking the links.

Tableware – table covers, napkins, plates and so on
Party Favors – if you are holding a party for children, these are essential. Try to pick out things that will keep them occupied throughout the party like activity books, crayons, finger puppets, bubbles and so on.
Food and drink – decide in advance if you are going to serve dips and finger food or a full meal and try to pick things you can prepare in advance to make it as easy as possible on the day.
